I'll be sad to see the Dillos go, but I'm apparently one of the few. Cap Metro says they average just eight riders per hour. I've rarely shared a Dillo with more than one or two other riders.
I actually prefer the new routes because of the five minute headways. I can take one from my office on Lavaca to Whole Foods in less time than it takes to take the elevator up to the garage and drive. They were especially convenient during the SXSW film festival. And my three-year-old loves to ride them.
They are bumpy as hell, though. And, no, I don't think the faux trolley design has ever fooled anyone.
