It was Laura Morrison by a landslide. She ran a formidable campaign.
Morrison was one of the architects of the McMansion ordinance, the sponsor of "technical" amendments to the VMU ordinance that have tied it up in knots (in some neighborhoods), and, in general, a vocal opponent of the density we sorely need in this town. My expectations for her are low, so I will view any moderation by her as a pleasant surprise.
I guess one positive expectation: I think she will fight to keep the City budget under control. Who knows, maybe she will even push to jiggle the City's funding priorities. We badly need more investment in infrastructure such as sidewalks, urban drainage control, and traffic/pedestrian signals.
